E-shoots

Engagement sessions, or e-shoots, are a fantastic way for you and your fiance to meet me, and for the two of you to get comfortable taking pictures together. They are actually a lot of fun.

The engagement session is a complementary service offered to you if you book a wedding with us. If you would like to book an engagement session, and not a wedding, please use the order form below.

I do engagement sessions at many different locations. Some couples like to use the space where they are planning to do their formal wedding portraits and some couples choose something different. Streets, cafes, and old building (such as a church), train tracks, or a river or park make great spots.

I suggest that couples think of  a place that suits them, such as farm, ranch, vineyard, golf club, favorite restaurant,  lake or the beach or choose a Vancouver neighborhood like Granville Island, Gastown, Seawall, Kits, Coal Harbour, Stanley Park or Choklit Park (W 7th Avenue & Spruce St). If you met or went to a university that might be a good place or choose your favorite architectural structure like the Vancouver Library or Vancouver Art Gallery is nice. There are also some beautiful places in the Fraiser Valley such as the Fort Langley Village, Mill Lake in Abbotsford, and Westminister Abbey in Mission.

My favorite time to shoot an engagement session is on a beautiful sunny evening in the Summer but the Fall is also great, and Winter or Spring can be good too. The best time of day is when the sun is low in the sky, casting a golden tone on everything but sometimes it rains and sometimes it’s cloudy and we’ll make it work regardless.

A little goes a long way…

A well designed stationery package that enhances the look and theme of your wedding is a great way to get a lot of impact without a huge investment. For instance, you can minimize the decorations in your reception area when you have colourful, elegant menus and name cards at every place setting.
